Jodie (Samuel Joseph) married two wonderful women in his life. He married his first wife, Cora May Allred when he was almost 20 years old in Mesa, Arizona. Jodie and Cora May had 12 children together. 11 of those (9 sons and 2 daughters) lived to adulthood. Cora passed away in 1944.
After Cora May passed away, Jodie married his 2nd wife, Beulah Haseltine Brown. It was a second marriage for Beulah as well. Beulah's first husband was James Berry Chandler and they had 12 children together also. Nine of their twelve children lived to adulthood. Beulah's husband passed away in 1939. Beulah and Jodie were married around 1945. Jodie passed away in 1963 and Beulah followed in 1967.
Beulah was a small women as you can see in the photo below. You do have to remember that most people appeared small when compared to Jodie. Beulah and Jodie in their later years.
