Flora Street

When we were little and lived on Flora Street, we were allowed to play in the street.  The street seemed to be just an extension of the front yard.  The street was dirt for most of the time we lived on Flora Street as seen in these photos.  In this photo we have Gerry, Kathy in the wagon and Grant.  Not sure who the little boy is at the end on the right.  What is of interest in the larger photo is the Crotrells' house across the street.  Gerry and Grant would cross this yard and go play in the rocks behind the house.  Also, you can see old Mr. Higgins house and car to the left of the picture.  Grant and Timmy, who lived across the street, would hit a baseball back and forth to each other.  More than once Grant hit Mr. Higgins' car which would bring Mr. Higgins out of his house and the boys running.  It was scary.
