Grandpa Johnson loved missionary work and spent his life sharing his testimony with others. Some of his fondest memories were those of when his grandchildren were also on missions sharing the gospel. Found in his Book of Remembrance were these artifacts remembering Gary's time as a missionary. Gary was called to serve in the East Central States Mission. He served there between 1962 and 1964. In looking at his farewell program, Gary included not only his immediate family in the program but also his extended family with Arville Johnson, an uncle, and Milford Johnson, a great uncle, giving the prayers. Also, he had Frank Johnson sing a solo. Uncle Bert's sons had very lovely voices and enjoying singing for others.
