While I have seen many Boy Scout awards in my life, I had not seen this particular award. Uncle Gerald won a Boy Scout contest of Boiling Water. I know that almost everyone can boil water and I do not believe that this is what the contest was all about. Typically this contest would involve making a fire using flint and steel or friction of some sort. After starting the fire in sure a manner, then the scouts would bring water to a boil over the flame they had just created.
This award was for Uncle Gerald Johnson. A cut out picture of him is attached below.
