Another place that we frequented as a family was Thumb Butte. Thumb Butte is a prominent landmark in Prescott, Arizona. We would go there as a family, a church group or an extended family unit. In these photos we hiked Thumb Butte as an extended family. We hiked the butte with Uncle Neil Evans and his family.
In this first photo we are hiking the trail to the top, which can be seen.
In the photo below we had reached the top and stopped for a picture.
(The butte has been hiked and climbed so much that it is currently hard to get to the top the rocks are very slick due to people climbing on them.)
In this photo, from left to right, we have Gerry and Mom (Dora Johnson) standing.
Seated on the rock, from left to right, we have Arlene Evans, Jeanine, Uncle Neil Evans, Wayne, Carolyn, Grant and Kathy.

How this view has changed over the years.
If we were on top of the butte today and taking in this same view,
we would be looking at the town of Prescott Valley and many more new subdivisions of houses.

We stopped for another photo.
