Susan Celestia Johnson
9 January 1858–26 December 1882
Susan Celestia Johnson, daughter and first child of Benjamin Franklin Johnson and Susan Adeline Holman, was born in Santaquin, Utah, on 9 January 1858.
She truly must have been a ―celestial spirit, as she was crippled from birth and had to be fed, washed, and carried from her bed to a chair and back every day of her life. Susan Celestia was severely incapacitated. She relied totally on her mother and family for all her needs. Celestia moved with her family from Utah to Arizona on the train on 17 October 1882. Because of the loving care she received, she lived to be nearly 25 years old. She died the day after Christmas, 26 December 1882, in Tempe, Arizona.
