Gerald Turley and Dora Johnson were married on April 6, 1950 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Originally, they had planned to be married earlier but chose to wait
so that Gerald's parents, Ormus and Ita Turley, could also go to the temple and be sealed.
Ormus had not been active in the church and
they had to wait until he was active and ready to go to the temple.
Ormus had taken up the habit of smoking Bull Durham cigarettes.
There are many ideas as to why Ormus smoked.
One suggestion was that he liked the challenge of rolling his own cigarettes.
Ita would never let Ormus smoke in the house
so he would have to go down to the barn to smoke.

In another post, will talk about the catalysts that brought Ormus back into the church.
