Sarah Melissa Holman

Sarah Melissa Holman was the 5th wife of Benjamin Franklin (BF) Johnson.

Here are some facts about Sarah Melissa Holman:
  • Daughter of James Sawyer Holman and Naomi Roxania LeBaron
  • Born: 18 November 1838, Kirtland, Geauga, Ohio
  • Died: 5 October 1901, Mesa, Maricopa, Arizona
  • Temple sealing to BFJ: 3 February 1856, Salt Lake City, Utah, by Brigham Young

Two of her sisters, Susan Adeline Holman and Harriet Naomi Holman, were also wives to BF Johnson.

Harriet is the oldest of the sisters, Sarah Melissa is next in age, and Susan Adeline is the youngest of the three.  Harriet is 4 years older than Sarah Melissa and 7 years older than Susan Adeline.

BF married Harriet in 1850, Sarah Melissa in 1856, and finally, Susan Adeline in 1857.


Sarah Melissa was 18 years old when she married BF Johnson.  They had 11 children - 7 boys and 4 girls.  Their names, birth and death dates are listed below:
