There are two stories here in this picture. The obvious story is the kids. In the picture from left to right we have LaRee, Kathy, Ray and Carolyn. Remember, we moved to the Rosser Street house (Brown's Lane) in 1963. A man by the name of Bruce Moody did the rock work at the house. The rock was collected by the family from a canyon just north of 5 North in Chino Valley. We would go out in the Toyota with the old trailer. We would fill it up and come back home. It took many trips to get all the conglomerate rock we collected. As you can see from the picture that there was a garden area rocked in. This was later removed because the ground proved not suitable for growing plants. Also, on the far side of the picture you can see the old homemade cement container Dad used to mix cement. He mixed the cement by hand using a hoe and shovel to mix the cement. Also, there used to be a pole that had a light on top of it which is no longer there. The light was meant to light the front yard.
